Roger is a 1981 graduate of Westminster College and received his law degree, with distinction, from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1985. He was on the editorial board of the UMKC Law Review, where he was awarded the Wilbur L. Pollard Law Review Honor Award for his article “Public Policy vs. The Protection of Peer Review,” and was on the school’s appellate advocacy team, where he earned the John L. Sheridan Appellate Advocacy Award. He practiced as an associate at Shughart, Thomson & Kilroy from 1985 to 1987, then practiced as an assistant prosecuting attorney in the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office, where became head of the office’s sex crimes unit and was named trial attorney of the year in 1989. He returned to Shughart Thomson in 1990, was named a shareholder/director in 1995, and remained there until he left to become a member of Wright, Green & Baughman, LLC in 1999. He is a member of the board of governors of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys and has written and lectured for continuing legal education courses. He is admitted to practice in Missouri and Kansas and in the United States District Courts for the Western District of Missouri and Kansas.
Lance attended the University of Missouri in Columbia for his undergraduate degree and his law degree. In law school, he was a member of the law review and worked for the Missouri public defender’s office on death penalty cases. Following graduation, Lance served as law clerk for Hon. Harold Lowenstein of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District, then joined a large downtown Kansas City firm where he practiced in the area of medical malpractice defense. Since 1999, when Lance started Wright, Green, and Baughman, LLC with Roger Wright and Ted Green, Lance has worked exclusively in the areas of wrongful death, serious personal injury, medical malpractice, and products liability. He is admitted to practice in Missouri and Kansas and in the United States District Courts for the Western District of Missouri and Kansas.
